The meeting of the Board for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is held: Preparation for new challenges in the field of Higher Education

On 12.12.2023, the meeting of the Board for Innovation and Entrepreneurship was held, an entity established in 2019 by decision of the Governing Council and which has an essential role in the development and improvement of innovation and entrepreneurship within the university.

The meeting was opened by Rector Prof. Asst. Dr. Drilon Bunjaku, starting with an introductory speech that emphasized the importance and role of this board for the smooth running of our university.

Rector Bunjaku greeted the participants and made a general assessment of the board's contribution during its time of operation. He emphasized the importance of today's meeting for filling the board with new members. The purpose of the meeting is to improve and strengthen the capacities of the board.

After the Rector's speech, the Vice-Rector Prof. Asst. Dr. Arben Boshnjaku took the floor to discuss the role and importance of the board's part in the accreditation process. Vice-rector Boshnjaku emphasized the close connection of the board with the institution and the need to fulfill the rules and standards established since 2019.

The discussion went on to emphasize the institution as a sacred entity that produces knowledge. The aim of the meeting was to implement the rules started in 2019, creating a general board that will include a wide group involved in the process of innovation and entrepreneurship. Part of this process is also positive criticism, which will bring improvements and advancements. The need for a proactive attitude from the university in general was also emphasized, reflecting on the suitability of the study programs with the requirements of the labor market.

Those present, including the two former rectors Prof. Dr. Bajram Nuraj (founding rector) and Prof. Dr. Hasan Mujaj, along with other professors of the university, emphasized the importance of holding regular meetings to concentrate and commit to raising the quality of studies. The discussions also included the planning of the process of keeping the board in the future.

Then, the role and importance of activating the Faculty of Applied Sciences and the great need of the labor market for profiles related to the sector of Engineering Informatics were discussed. Everyone agreed that the Management should focus more on preparing a study program for Engineering Informatics during the next accreditation phase. This would enable the opening of new doors. Additionally, other programs related to medicine, such as health tourism, environmental protection, and energy, were also discussed.

At the end of the meeting, a vote was held where all the participants chose Mr. Behar Ferizi from the Chamber of Commerce as chairman of the Board for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

This election marks an important step towards continuing the work of the board to improve and expand the field of innovation and entrepreneurship at the university.
