A historic achievement for UFAGJ: The Engineering Informatics program (BSc.) is accredited for the first time and the Faculty of Applied Sciences in Gjakova is operationalized

University “Fehmi Agani” (UFAGJ) has marked a historic milestone in its academic and institutional development. For the first time, the Bachelor of Science (BSc) program in Engineering Informatics has been accredited within the newly established Faculty of Applied Sciences, thereby operationalizing a faculty that will serve as an important foundation for the development of Computer Science and Engineering studies.

This new program comes as a direct response to the labor market demands in the region of Gjakova, the Dukagjini plain, and beyond. Students enrolled in this program will gain advanced knowledge and skills in areas such as programming, computer networks, cybersecurity, embedded systems, and contemporary information and engineering technologies, enabling them to become competitive professionals at both national and international levels.

The Rector of University “Fehmi Agani”, Prof. Ass. Dr. Drilon Bunjaku, as the initiator of this program, emphasized:

“I am proud of this historic achievement of the senior management of UFAGJ and I am grateful to many supporters who contributed throughout this long and challenging journey.”

Rector Bunjaku further highlighted that this development in higher education in the Municipality of Gjakova will have a direct impact on reducing youth migration, by offering students the opportunity to study Computer Science and Engineering fields without being forced to leave the country. According to him, this initiative will not only raise the educational and professional level of new generations but will also have a strong effect on economic development, increasing the potential for IT outsourcing services from Gjakova.

UFAGJ invites all interested candidates to follow the official university website, where information regarding the call for applications for this new study program will be published. The call is expected to be announced during the first week of September.
