Prof. Ass. Dr. Arben Boshnjaku PhD is a teacher at the Faculty of Medicine at the University "Fehmi Agani" in Gjakova. He completed his primary and secondary education in Gjakovë, while he completed his basic studies at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Pristina, Physiotherapy department. He completed his first master's degree at the Medical University of Tirana, and the second at the University of Prishtina ("Training of Trainers" program funded by the European Union office in Kosovo under the guidance of a consortium of European universities). Dr Boshnjaku completed his doctoral studies at the "PhaNuSpo" Doctoral School at the University of Vienna in Austria, receiving the title “Doctor of Philosophy” (PhD). The main topics of scientific interest are the physiology of aging, muscle physiology, gerontology, rehabilitation, and exercise sciences. He is also the author/co-author of 24 publications in internationally peer-reviewed journals (https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4343-9366), of which 20 being within the SCOPUS and platform (Scopus Author ID: 57192372957) as well as 2 professional scientific monographies. Among the distinguished studies, within the "Active Aging Platform" of the University of Vienna, Dr. Boshnjaku has explored the biological, genetic and socio-epidemiological factors that affect expected life expectancy at birth among the elderly in Kosovo.
Dr. Boshnjaku is Kosovo’s country coordinator in the European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education (ENPHE) and a member of the research group within this organization, as well as the institutional coordinator within the Consortium of Institutes of Higher Education in Health and Rehabilitation in Europe (COHEHRE). On the other hand, he was responsible for designing the bachelor's program’s curricula, the development of various academic subjects in the programs of UFAGJ, the physiotherapy assistant program at the Centre of Competences throughout Kosovo, and now is in charge of the working group for the development of the master's program in physiotherapy. Moreover, Dr. Boshnjaku has extensive expertise in various national and international scientific and capacity-building projects, being the local leader/expert of 4 third-party funded scientific projects and 2 capacity-building projects.
